    Borsa also has a branch on the Asian side (Kandilli).  In the summertime, sit outside on the terrace where the view is spectacular.

    This trend-setting jewelry shop, one of the favorites of stylish Turkish women,  is known for its modern jewelry that has a Turkish flair.  There are earrings, necklaces and bracelets with large, dazzling stones as well as less expensive options that make perfect gifts.

    A popular shop for high quality leather and and fur jackets and coats.  The items are generally well priced and the service attentive.

    An elegant 90-room hotel located in Nishantasi, the fashionable residential and shopping quarter. There is a spa offering a fully equipped gym and a full range of relaxation treatments.  The 1922 historic building was renovated to offer every modern convenience while preserving the character of the original building.

    This intimate and elegant restaurant serves fine continental and Turkish cuisine.  You can’t miss with the yogurtlu kebab; kul basti (thin grilled lamb); and bademli keskul (almond pudding). There is a also a garden for outdoor dining.  Cash only.

    This noted department store carries international and Turkish-designed women’s and men’s clothing, items for the home as well as delicious chocolates including chocolate covered Turkish delight.  In addition to the store in Nisantasi, there are other stores located in Kanyon, Akmerkez and Istinye Park.

    A casual spot to dine on salad, steak or fish.  Good especially for lunch if you’re in the neighborhood.

    A lively Istanbul chain serving good café food. The mint lemonade is particularly refreshing on a hot summer day.  There are also branches in Bebek and Ortakoy.

    This casual lunch spot near the Swissotel serves simple good food. There are few tourists and little English is spoken, but somehow it works out.   The specialties  include menemen (Omelette with green peppers, tomatoes, feta), doner (lamb on spit with rice) Turkish desserts, baklavah or milk based rice pudding.
