Delicious, rich, creamy, deeply flavorful, irresistible gelato.

Very good coffee to be had at this landmark coffee shop near the Pantheon.

A must stop for coffee lovers.  It simply the best, richly flavored with a thick crema on top.  It comes automatically with sugar so specify “senza zucchero,” without sugar, if you prefer it plain.  There are also pastries and chocolates to accompany the coffee and lots of treats to take home.  There are two Sant’ Eustachhio cafes in the square; this is the one that doesn’t look so fancy.

Degli Effetti actually has three shops in the Piazza Capranica, 75, 79, and 93 all of which showcase contemporary, high style designer clothing.  Women’s clothing is found at 93, men’s at 79 and 75, called the “neo millenium” shop features unisex cutting edge selections.

While Giolitti is a little commercial in feeling, for chocolate lovers, there are at least 6 different varieties of chocolate and the dark chocolate is divine.  If you feel the need for a little food, they also sell panini and there’s a coffee bar to wash it all down. There is seating in the back and also outside in front of the shop.

Closed Tuesdays in autumn and in winter

Creamy, all-natural gelato made with only seasonal fresh ingredients in a range of imaginative flavors including dried fig and walnut; ginger and rum; and caramel meringue.

Worth checking out for the name alone.  The high style shoes are nice too.
