Museum Passes online www.veniceconnected.it is a new website that allows you to book tickets to civic museums, including the Doge’s Palace, as well as public transportation. You can select the English version, and once you book your dates of travel, the site lets you select transportation or culture passes.

Dating from the 15th century, this beautiful palazzo on the Grand Canal is now home to the Baron Giorgio Franchetti’s Collection including a wonderful painting of St. Sebastien by Mantegna and Titian’s glorious nude wrapped in fur. When the sun is shining and the water is sparkling, the views of the Canal through the gothic arched windows are extraordinary.
This former home of Mariano Fortuny now displays the vast range of his creative endeavors including glorious fabrics as well as examples of his paintings, sculpture, textiles and theatre design. The fabrics are especially revered for his use of ancient Renaissance techniques and dyes as well as his method of weaving with gold and silver threads.
